“We are working quickly to find solutions for these students,” Chancellor Sarah Tucker said. “As soon as we learned of ITT Tech closing, we contacted colleges in the area and began working on a plan to help students make the best decisions for themselves. Unfortunately, there will not be a one size fits all solution here. Some students will want to transfer their credits to a local college, while others may choose to discharge their student loans. We want these students to know that we understand their frustration and will do everything we can to help them during this time.”
ITT Technical Institute, one of the country’s largest for-profit institutions, announced this week it was permanently closing all campuses nationwide. The company has operated 130 campuses in 38 states. West Virginia only has one ITT Technical Institute in the state, located in Huntington.
