New Students
After you submit your application, complete your Admissions file by taking these steps:
- Send an official high school transcript if you graduated within the past 5 years.
- If you have taken the ACT or SAT, submit a copy of the scores. These can be included on your high school transcript or printed from the ACT or SAT website. An advisor will help you to determine the most appropriate method of placement in your English and Math courses.
- To seek financial aid, submit your Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) at www.fafsa.gov and use school code 010920 to have the results sent to WVNCC. You can learn more about financial aid here.
- Get in touch with your campus service center (the quickest way is through our website’s chat function) to have your account reviewed. Students with all requirements complete will be issued a registration ticket and connected with a counselor to schedule classes.

Are you a First-Generation college student? Generally, a first-generation college student is the first person in the family to attend (and graduate) from college. Trying to embark on a college career without the advice and guidance from parents who have not had the experience, can be challenging.
