WVNCC Sets Seminars on Oil, Gas Industry
Posted 06/29/17West Virginia Northern Community College will be hosting free seminars in July for those persons interested in learning more about the oil and gas industry in the Upper Ohio Valley as a prelude to entering that job market.
“Oil and Gas Industry Basic Training” will be offered from 6-9 p.m. on July 25 in Room 110 at the New Martinsville campus and from 6-9 p.m. July 27 in Room 200 of the Applied Technology Center at the Wheeling campus. There is no cost to those attending.
Participants in these seminars will gain information that will help them be more prepared to enter the oil and gas industry. Topics will include: “Safety & Protecting the Environment,” “Introduction to Jobs and Areas of the Petroleum Industry,” “Industry Terminology,” “Basic Equipment Identification and Uses,” “The Importance of Technology and Automation,” “What to Expect on the Job” and “Next Step Ideas for Those Wanting to Enter the Industry."
The seminars will be presented by WVNCC Petroleum Technology Instructional Specialist Curt Hippensteel. Attendees also will receive a certificate of attendance.
