Cincinnati College of Mortuary Science, founded in 1882, educates students about mortuary science and death education. They offer a diverse curriculum in all funeral service aspects as well as real world experience in their embalming laboratory. The College is authorized by the Ohio Regents to grant an Associate of Applied Science or a Bachelor of Mortuary Science degree.
Admission Requirements
College transfer students are required to have a 2.0 GPA. Those who have attended another regionally accredited college may enter the CCMS mortuary science curriculum directly. The Bachelor of Mortuary Science degree requires at least 60 semester hours or 90 quarter hours of general education courses in addition to the 5 quarter mortuary science curriculum.
Financial Aid
Financial aid eligibility is determined through the Free Application for Federal Students Aid (FAFSA). The school code is 010906. Students will then be notified about financial award eligibility. CCMS also provides private education loans to students.
Scholarships
The Ohio Embalmers Association has a scholarship available to Ohio students only. An application can be downloaded from the web site, www.ccms.edu.
