WVNCC Radiography Student Wins Second Place in Statewide Essay Competition

A West Virginia Northern Community College (WVNCC) radiography student recently achieved second place in the Essay Competition at the annual West Virginia Society of Radiologic Technologists (WVSRT) Conference, held November 7-9 in Bridgeport, West Virginia. The conference brought together current and aspiring radiologic technology professionals to explore the latest advancements in medical imaging.

Lauren GaiserLauren Gaiser, a second-year Radiography student at WVNCC from New Martinsville, WV, was recognized for her essay titled “The Role of MRI in Diagnosing Multiple Sclerosis,” earning her second place in the competition. Her achievement highlights the excellence and dedication of WVNCC's Radiography Program students.

“The conference is an excellent opportunity for our students to learn and network within the field, and we are incredibly proud of Lauren’s accomplishment in the Essay Competition,” said WVNCC Radiography Program Director, Misty Kahl. "It was fantastic to see all the second-year Radiography students actively participating in the conference, both competing and learning."

Kaeleen UttIn addition, the WVSRT awarded second-year Radiography student Kaeleen Utt of Pine Grove, WV, their annual scholarship for highest academic achievement this past summer.

WVNCC’s Radiography Program is a 21-month Associate of Applied Science (A.A.S.) degree program accredited by the Joint Review Committee on Education in Radiologic Technology, preparing students for a successful career in the field of medical imaging.
